About the Commission
The Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry commenced on 14 September 2015 by Order in Council.
The Honourable Margaret Wilson QC was appointed Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into matters outlined in the terms of reference, including the decision to close the Barrett Adolescent Centre (BAC), support and transition arrangements for BAC patients, and the consideration of possible alternatives to the closure of the BAC.
Mr Paul Freeburn QC and Ms Catherine Muir were appointed Counsel Assisting the Inquiry.
Commissioner Margaret Wilson QC presented her report to the Premier on 24 June 2016.
The Commission has now concluded.
